El Niño is responsible for the rise of seawater temperatures. Therefor less nutrients are developing in the water and a lof of fish species are going to colder waters to find more food. Other species seek greater depths, making them more difficult to catch.
Luckily El Niña comes after El Niño which cools the water again. The effect is more noticeable the second year after El Niño, which will be 2024.
